E2 Forum Frankfurt: Larger range of exhibitors and cutting-edge topics attract visitors to Frankfurt

19 Sep 2022

This Wednesday (21 September 2022), the E2 Forum Frankfurt will kick off with great momentum into two days of innovation forum and conference for the dialogue between the lifts and escalators industry and decision-makers from building management, engineering and development. More exhibitors than at the first event in 2018 and an up-to-date, high-ranking conference programme are attracting the experts to Frankfurt am Main – Germany's high-rise metropolis.

The E2 Forum in Frankfurt am Main will start on Wednesday (21 September 2022) with a message of success. "The E2 Forum Frankfurt kicks off with a top line-up of exhibiting companies, and the conference has a super up-to-date composition of experts and topics," says Wolfgang Marzin, Chairman of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt, in the run-up to the second E2 Forum Frankfurt. "We are very delighted with the positive development of the event: after the successful premiere in 2018, 40 companies are exhibiting – that is slightly more than before."

Exhibitors at the technology and networking platform for cross-industry dialogue include numerous key players as well as medium-sized companies and innovative start-ups, such as ALGI, Bosch Service Solutions, Brugg Lifting, Bucher Hydraulics, Hydroware, Cedes, D+H Mechatronic, Danfoss Drives, Global1Partners, Kollmorgen, Meiller Aufzugtüren, Nayar Systems, NetCom Sicherheitstechnik, New Lift, OSMA, Otis, Permoser & Partner, Schindler, Schmitt + Sohn, Sensotek, Telegärtner Elektronik and UVIS Innovative Solutions as well as Wittur.

The innovation forum for elevator and escalator technology is an event organised by Messe Frankfurt in cooperation with the VDMA Elevator and Escalator Association, which is also responsible for the conference programme: under the heading "Innovation, digitalisation and Sustainability – Opportunities for Buildings of Today and Tomorrow", the conference will feature lectures and panel discussions on both days with around 50 experts from industry and from the planning, operation and development of lift and escalator systems.

The conference programme is tailored to the challenges of both the operator side and the industrial supplier side: Nine main topics structure the two-day conference. "The focus is on the topics of the future: digitalisation, sustainability, development in urban areas and obuilding planning, as well as construction and modernisation of existing lifts. But other crucial aspects will also be addressed, such as the recruitment of skilled workers," announces Dr Peter Hug, Managing Director of the Elevators and Escalators Association within the VDMA (German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association).

Opening with star architect Nayla Mecataff and association presidents

The E2 Forum will be officially opened on Wednesday (21 September, 11:00 a.m., CMF, Hall 1) with welcoming addresses by Roberto Zappa, President of the European Lift Association (ELA), Martin Schmitt, Chairman of the VDMA Elevator and Escalator Association, and Wolfgang Marzin.

The keynote speech will be given by Nayla Mecattaf on "High-rise buildings of the future: sustainability and well-being". The renowned architect Nayla Mecattaf is Managing Director of CroMe Studio Paris and partner of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop. The conference programme will start at 12:00 with lectures and panel discussions on the topics of "Cybersecurity", "The Elevator in Building Planning", "Digital Infrastructure – Challenges and Solutions", "Construction and Modernisation of Existing Elevators" and "Integrating Elevators in Modern Buildings".

On Thursday (22 September 2022) the topics "Urbanisation, Smart City, Sustainability", "Elevators and Escalators in the Urbanisation Process", "Digital, Sustainable, Safe" and "From Maintenance to Testing" are on the agenda. Among others, experts from the French transport operator RATP for the Paris metropolitan region, from Vonovia, the largest European real estate group, pioneers of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Germany, and the major E2 manufacturers in the industry will be present.

Professional qualification credits for architects in six federal states

The conference contents are worth credits for professional education by the architectural associations in the six federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Brandenburg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. They recognise participation in the E2 Forum Frankfurt conference as an advanced professional training measure.

E2 Forum: Place and time for dialogue between industry and building management

Pure networking: the innovation forum for elevator and escalator technology combines conference participation, cross-sector networking and an innovative range of products and services from renowned manufacturers as well as successful start-ups. All this bundled under one roof at the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt.

The vertical-horizontal mobility of people and goods in urban infrastructures requires intelligent and connected building systems technology. Messe Frankfurt brings together all relevant players who are looking for or offering market-ready solutions to these challenges and has, thus, created a network of experts that is unrivalled anywhere in the world: Building Technologies. In this sector, Messe Frankfurt organises a total of 24 trade fairs on three continents, including the two leading trade fair brands in the sector worldwide: Light + Building and ISH. Accordingly, the trade fair organiser is expanding its marketing platforms and conferences around the globe. Today, Messe Frankfurt is represented with five events for lifts and escalators in America, Asia and Europe: With the International Elevator and Escalator (IEE) Expo in the metropolis of Mumbai, Messe Frankfurt provides the platform for the growing Indian market. The E2 Forums in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Frankfurt am Main (Germany), Milan (Italy) India's capital New Delhi and Shanghai (China) round off the portfolio as innovation forums for cross-sector dialogue between the industry and operators in the real estate sector, planning and building technologies.

The E2 Forum Frankfurt will take place on 21 and 22 September 2022 (Wednesday and Thursday) at the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt (CMF).
